On the east side of the island is the Intracoastal waterway which is just a few minutes away from the Venice inlet and the Gulf of Mexico . On the west side are the unspoiled white sandy beaches, sloping towards the Gulf of Mexico . The sunset over the Gulf is unsurpassed.

Sarasota County is packed with great fishing. Whether you are interested in fresh or salt water, fishing from a boat, land or pier, you're sure to find the right spot.
